Welcome to our first edition of Green Your Routine, a blog thread dedicated to sharing my favorite natural and eco friendly beauty and personal care products! Today I am sharing my favorite products from Beauty by Earth, a family owned USA based company that is dedicated to making affordable, safe, and effective personal care.

I originally discovered Beauty by Earth through the EWG Skindeep website while looking for a non-toxic all natural self tanner. Not only did they deliver on the self tanner but I have since become a regular customer of their other products too. All of their products come with the same promise:

Organic & Natural Ingredients.
No Harmful Toxins or Chemicals.
Never Tested On Animals.
Affordable Prices.
Environmentally Sustainable.
All Formulations Made in the USA.

Read on for a list of my current favorites in rotation!

BBE Sunless Tanner | Sunless Face Tanner bundle-$55

As I said, this was my first BBE product and I am a fan for life! I was looking for a sunless tanner that was completely free of harmful ingredients so that I felt comfortable slathering on my entire body somewhat frequently. I didn’t know what to expect for results using an organic all natural tanner, but wow this stuff works SO well to give you a beautiful deep golden (not orange!) glow. Just one layer gives a nice base tan look. If you really want to crank it up you can add another coat the next day. It has a mild and pleasant smell when you apply it, like a cocoa butter and tanner smell, but it goes away once you shower off. What I like most about it is that it’s super moisturizing. This is important since you are supposed to exfoliate and shave before you apply tanner, so it’s like a nice thirst quench for your skin. There is now a formula for your face as well which is less heavy, and my sensitive skin has never broken out from using it. The optional mitt is great for reaching your upper back and preventing orange palms. 10/10!

Hydrating Face Mask– $22

This face mask is magic. I have given samples to several of our PH models and they all LOVE it. It goes on like a charcoal clay mask.. but when you wash it off instead of feeling super dry from the clay your skin feels super moisturized! It has a very herbal earthy smell that I don’t really mind, but some may not be into it. It is packed full of botanical extracts and skin loving ingredients, and nothing else. A little goes a long way so this is a great affordable staple to use in your weekly skin routine.

Makeup Remover– $16

To be honest, I’ve never been a makeup remover person. I LOATH the feeling of rubbing oil over my makeup to remove it.. ew. That is why I LOVE this makeup remover. It goes on like mildly sudsy water and removes makeup so effortlessly. I love it especially for days when I went all out with eye makeup because I can remove it without using any effort on my delicate eyes, and it doesn’t sting at all! Plus it smells like an orange creamsicle pop 🙂

Konjac Facial Sponge 2 pack– $11

If you haven’t used a konjac sponge before you are missin’ out! I would say this was one of the biggest game changers in improving my complexion. I used to use a face scrub to exfoliate and I always wanted that stripped clean feeling after washing. But my sensitive skin did not approve! When I switched to using a plain wet konjac sponge in the morning with no face wash, it allowed the natural protective oils to stay on my skin while getting a nice clean and gentle exfoliation. I also use it in the evening with a dot of my mild face wash. It’s soft enough to use to exfoliate every day, but strong enough to clean your skin well. The best part is they are 100% biodegradable and compostable in your garden compost.

Mineral Facial Sunscreen SPF 20– $17

I have used a LOT of different natural mineral sunscreens and this one is by FAR my favorite for my face. It checks all the marks.. goes on smooth and easy, rubs in with NO white tint, feels like nothing when it dries, smells great, stays on, doesn’t make me break out, reef safe, and is made from all natural ingredients with non-nano particles. This is the one I carry in my purse and everywhere I go for a quick application to the face, neck/chest, and back of my hands when I find myself getting a bit too much sun while out and about. The best!

Eye Cream– $22

This eye cream smells great, lasts a long time, and makes my skin feel sooo smooth and soft. Is it the world’s best eye cream? Probably not.. it’s more like a quality lotion for the delicate eye area. But for the cost, it’s my staple that I use 2x a day when it’s not in my budget to splurge on one of those über expensive creams made with ground up unicorn horn or whatever. I dab a little around the eyes and then press it into my upper lip area to keep my skin young and dewy (dry skin=wrinkles). I love knowing that it’s ingredients are safe to use around my mouth and eyes.

In all, I absolutely love Beauty By Earth’s products and what they represent. I wish they used reusable or non-plastic packaging so that’s the only drawback. However, I reached out to the owner and they said it is something they’re working on.. and they currently use all recycled content in their bottles and they are recyclable. And there’s never been any unnecessary use of plastic or packaging when I order from them.

They always have deals and coupons going, so go to their promotions page and see what they have for you this week. I highly recommend you give them a try, but don’t just take my word for it.. check out their raving reviews on their website and Amazon! They also have an outstanding 30 day money back guarantee on ALL of their products, no questions asked. Yet another reason to fall in love with this wonderful company.

Hiii, I'm Justine-- marine bio nerd, dog mom, bikini addict, amateur home chef, photographer.. and the designer + sea-EO behind Pelican House. With every bit of my soul, I love the ocean and all the life it holds, and it continues to inspire every aspect of my life. I first created Pelican House as a blog, named after the 100 year old beach bungalow (that's a fancy word for "adorable tiny shack") we call home. It has since evolved into a conscious lifestyle + bikini brand, inspired by my seaside life here in Santa Cruz where there's always sand in my pockets and a salty breeze coming through the front door. When I'm not working on making bikinis, I'm blogging about whatever is inspiring me that week. Be it a recipe, a piece of clothing, or an organic makeup company. Whether you are a fellow Californian or live thousands of miles away, I hope this blog makes you feel right at home in the California sunshine!
